Wolverhampton Wanderers came back from the south coast with a well earned point & were the first team to stop Brighton scoring at home in the league this season.
As the home side ran out of ideas belief grew in the visitors camp and Wolves created enough opportunities to win the game, but it’s a point most Wolves fans would have taken before kick off.
Jose Sa
In terms of being called into action, it was a pretty quiet night for the Portuguese international & that’s credit to those in front of him. A little wasteful and hasty with his distribution. 6/10
Max Kilman
Against a tough opponent, he was only caught out once by the lively Joao Pedro. Other than that never really troubled and remained strong and composed throughout. 7/10
Craig Dawson
You could say that Santi Bueno was unfortunate to be left out, but the former West Ham defenders performance showed exactly why if he’s fit he plays. Solid, again. 7.5/10
Toti Gomes
The former Estoril defender quite often pressed aggressively which really helped disrupt De Zerbi’s usual Brighton approach. 7/10
Nelson Semedo
Along with Tommy Doyle, the best Wolves players on the pitch. A brilliant last ditch tackle and reliable throughout. Quality with and without the ball on Wolves right hand side. 8/10
Matt Doherty
A solid performance from the former Spurs man who was quietly efficient. Never easy being asked to play on your unnatural side. 6.5/10
Mario Lemina
After taking a little time to find his range, he grew as the game went on. Great late run and burst into the box past Van Hecke. He’s such a big part of how Wolves play under O’Neil & made ten tackles and interceptions this game week. 7/10
Tommy Doyle
Like Lemina, took a little while to acclimatise to the game. However, when he was up and running it was another excellent performance from the Man City loanee. 8/10
Pablo Sarabia
A disappointing night for the former PSG forward whose woeful early corner set the tone for his evening. No doubting his talent but from the off this didn’t look like a game that suited him. 5/10
Matheus Cunha
He’ll be frustrated not to have done better with the opportunities he had, but never stopped and will be understandably frustrated with the officiating after he was booked for an imaginary reason. 6/10
Pedro Neto
A handful for Brighton throughout the evening and especially dangerous when on the counter. Had to manage his enthusiasm and did well to play as long as he did. Great to have him back. 8/10
