Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Gary O’Neil gambled as he changed the formation for the trip to the London Stadium, but unfortunately it badly backfired and played into West Ham’s hands as they picked off Wolves with ease.
Dan Bentley
The former Bristol City stopper came in at short notice for the injured Sa, but it was an afternoon to forget as you’d have to ask questions about the way goals one and three went past him, maybe even the second as well. A long way off the levels he produced against Arsenal and Burnley. Bentley’s performance also highlighted that if Wolves do receive an offer they can’t refuse for Sa in January, a replacement is an absolute must. 3/10

If you are playing as a fullback in a Premier League back four, your distribution and positioning has to be better than what was on show on Sunday afternoon. A worrying drop in form in recent weeks, particularly when on the ball. 3/10
Max Kilman
When in a back four, you’d be forgiven for thinking it would make sense to have had Dawson and Kilman playing on the natural sides, but they weren’t and it looked disjointed. 5/10
Craig Dawson
Looks way more comfortable in the middle of a back five and was left exposed when West Ham broke quickly. One of the main victims of the formation gamble but was also ill the night before, a rare off day for one of the most consistent performers this calendar year. 4/10
Nelson Semedo
Very unfortunate not to have an assist, but maybe a little passive for the opening goal. Quite often splits opinion but of all the defenders he’s probably the most suited to a back four. 5/10
Mario Lemina
Like Dawson and Cunha, he was carrying a bug and you could see he wasn’t his normal self or close to the high standards he’s set himself over the last 12 months at Molineux. 5/10
Joao Gomes
Busy and always keen to be involved but unfortunately not a lot was happening in front of him. 5/10.
Hwang Hee Chan
It’s hard to recall any positive attacking contribution from the South Korean as he failed to make any impact on the game whatsoever, but it probably says more about the future of Sasa Kalajdzic and Fabio Silva that despite being a passenger throughout, he lasted the full game. 3/10
Pablo Sarabia
Has quality in his feet but despite his talent he does slow things down more often than he speeds things up. Yes it was inches but it’s a struggle to understand how you could be offside in that position in what could have been a game changing goal. Like his fellow forwards, had little impact on the game. 4/10
Jean Ricner Bellegarde
Not that it would have changed the outcome of the game, but the Frenchman was an open target for Coufal throughout the whole and he can understandably feel let down by the lack of protection he had. He wasn’t great but despite being on the end of some special treatment he kept coming back for more. 4/10
Matheus Cunha
Tried to take some responsibility but had little joy against a low block and counter attack specialist side. Again someone who played through an illness but despite having little joy, he kept going. 5/10
