It was a frustrating afternoon at Molineux as Wolverhampton Wanderers struggled to lay a glove on Steve Cooper’s Nottingham Forest.
After being on the wrong end of a midweek 5-0 score line, the visitors understandably came to spoil and like when other opponents set up with a low block, Wolves struggled for ideas which resulted in lots of left to right passing with little penetration.
Jose Sa
Got drawn towards the cross in the build up to the Forest goal and then found himself in no mans land but pulled off a good save after Kilman’s mistake. 6/10
Toti Gomes
The Portuguese international has done well for Wolves, but since his breakthrough it would be hard find a poorer performance than this. As much as he defends one on one situations well, his distribution v Forest was way below the standards required as he gave the ball away on multiple occasions. 3/10
Max Kilman
A casual moment almost cost Wolves but Jose Sa was alert and saved his blushes. Not his usual composed self when in possession. 5/10
Craig Dawson
Mr. reliable in the middle of the home defense and very unlucky with a spectacular goal line clearance for the Forest goal. 6/10
Hugo Bueno
A poor game from the Spanish wingback who has struggled next to Toti. Lot’s of heart and application but very little in a position that requires some creativity from wide. 4/10
Nelson Semedo
Bullied by Toffolo for the goal, but a steady day otherwise. Like with many of his teammates, he had little impact when going forward. 6/10
Joao Gomes
Pleased the crowd when he dispossessed MGW on a few occasions & lots of work without the ball but faded in the second half. 6/10
Mario Lemina
Quite often the heartbeat of most Wolves performances, but despite he efforts the home side never really got going. A good all round performance. 7/10
Pablo Sarabia
In terms of football intelligence and talent, he’s probably the best at the club. Lovely awareness of Cunha’s run in the build up to a beautifully worked goal. Very unfortunate to be subbed. 6.5/10
Matheus Cunha
A lovely finish that ended a fine move, but unfortunately that was Wolves only bit of quality all afternoon. Relentless effort throughout. 6.5/10
Hwang Hee Chan
As we’ve come to expect, ‘Channy’ put in his usual big shift and defended from the front, but in the final third he had zero impact on the game. 5/10
